Forests in Cambodia are being rapidly destroyed as urbanization and development proceed at an ever faster pace. In the process of development, consideration of environmental destruction has been entirely and comprehensively excluded from consideration by entrepreneurial and governmental forces. Sadly, the most damaged industry from the endemic environmental destruction is the primary industry that the livelihoods of the local poor are based upon. The ecology program seeks to serve these poor people.
